Discovery of a radio jet in the cloverleaf quasar at z = 2.56

چکیده

The fast growth of supermassive black holes and their feedback to the host galaxies play an important role in regulating evolution galaxies, especially early Universe. However, due cosmological dimming limited angular resolution most observations, it is difficult resolve from active galactic nuclei (AGN) galaxies. Gravitational lensing, for its magnification, provides a powerful tool spatially differentiate emission originated AGN galaxy at high redshifts. Here we report discovery radio lobe strongly lensed starburst quasar, H1413+117 or Cloverleaf redshift $z= 2.56$, based on observational data optical, sub-millimetre, wavelengths. With both parametric non-parametric lens models with reconstructed images source plane, find differentially lensed, kpc scaled, single-sided lobe, located ${\sim}1.2\,\mathrm{kpc}$ north west plane. From spectral energy distribution bands, that has turning point residing between 1.5 GHz 8 GHz, indicating age 20--50 Myr. This could indicate switching quasar jet mode mode.

Detection of Emission from the Cn Radical in the Cloverleaf Quasar at Z=2.56

We report the detection of CN(N=3→2) emission towards the Cloverleaf quasar (z = 2.56) based on observations with the IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer. This is the first clear detection of emission from this radical at high redshift. CN emission is a tracer of dense molecular hydrogen gas (n(H2) > 10 4 cm) within star–forming molecular clouds, in particular in regions where the clouds are af...

Discovery of a Color-selected Quasar at z = 5.50.

We present observations of RD J030117+002025, a quasar at z=5.50 discovered from deep, multicolor, ground-based observations covering 74 arcmin2. This is the most distant quasar or active galaxy currently known. The object was targeted as an R-band dropout, with RAB>26.3 (3 sigma limit in a 3&arcsec; diameter region), IAB=23.8, and zAB=23.4. The Keck/Low-Resolution Imaging Spectrometer spectrum...

Gas and Dust in the Cloverleaf Quasar at Redshift 2.5

We observed the upper fine structure line of neutral carbon, C I(P2 →P1) (νrest = 809 GHz), the 12CO(J=3→2) line (νrest = 345 GHz) and the 1.2 mm continuum emission from H1413+117 (Cloverleaf quasar, z = 2.5) using the IRAM interferometer. Together with the detection of the lower fine structure line (Barvainis et al. 1997), the Cloverleaf quasar is now only the second extragalactic system, besi...

Discovery of a z = 6.1 Radio-Loud Quasar in the NDWFS

From examination of only 4 deg of sky in the NOAO Deep Wide-Field Survey (NDWFS) region, we have identified the first radio-loud quasar at a redshift z > 6. The object, FIRST J1427385+331241, was discovered by matching the FLAMEX IR survey to FIRST survey radio sources with NDWFS counterparts. One candidate z > 6 quasar was found, and spectroscopy with the Keck II telescope confirmed its identi...

The Molecular Disk in the Cloverleaf Quasar

We propose a new interpretation for the CO emitting region of the Cloverleaf (H1413+1143), a gravitationally lensed QSO. We proceed by fitting a two-galaxy lensing model directly to the IRAM CO(7-6) data rather than to the optical HST image. From the fit we infer that the CO source might be a disk-like structure with a characteristic radius R ≥ 790 pc, a value similar to that of the CO emitting...
